I am endorsing this slate due to several reasons (personally knowing and working with each one.)

I know what hard workers they are, their values and desire to do what is best for ALL our nurses.  I have worked with each of them to attain our goals to form a union, have a voice and attain a contract to build off of.  These ladies have dedicated the past three years to promoting us to unionize and all the steps in between to now a Collective Bargaining Agreement.  They want to keep the momentum going and are committing to an additional three years to lead Our Local 2024 as executive board members.

Most of these ladies have been involved since the beginning.  They never hid their faces from Corewell.  They were proud to be a part of this movement.  They were leads at their campuses organizing union card signing tables.  They heard first hand from the nurses of their struggles and their wants.  They were there when Kelly Sadler was presented the Petition to Unionize. They were there to pass the signature cards to NLRB.  They signed our Request to Charter letter  to form our own local. They officiated at voting to unionize.  They participated at the ballot counting at the NLRB.  Their drive was unstoppable.  All the time working together with other campuses’ leads to achieve their vision of a better life for Corewell nurses.  They didn’t stop once we unionized.  They became appointed stewards to represent their fellow nurses.

These ladies took it upon themselves and at their expense to attend convention, conferences, workshops and training session to become more versed in how to represent a union member, how a union operates and how to lead our Local 2024. When there were no negotiation meetings with Corewell, these individuals orchestrated a weekly meeting place and time to discuss language for the contract.

They each were on several committees that brought information to the table to discuss and put into our contract articles.  They were elected by their peers to represent the nurses at the bargaining table.  I watched each one during bargaining, speak up and ask those tough questions when they felt it didn’t represent all nurses, even when the majority might disagree.

They have shown over and over that they represent all nurses, whether full time, part time, contingent, flex, in patient or out patient, new nurse or a senior nurse.  This slate works together well by discussing, questioning each other and coming to a fair resolution. They have shown their dedication and their excitement for what can be accomplished over the past three years. Now they want to continue to lead and promote a strong Local 2024.

For the WE ARE 2024: 10K STRONG slate, each candidate has been thoughtfully selected and placed into a position on the executive board that best fits their talents and past experiences.  As we decide who will lead Local 2024, we should consider each candidate’s qualifications, experience, dedication, and ability to move our union forward.  We need to ask ourselves which slate is the best qualified?   WE ARE 2024: 10K STRONG slate meets those requirements.

This slate brings years of nursing and life experience, along with the commitment and time needed to make Local 2024 the strongest it can be.

I believe WE ARE 2024: 10K STRONG will build a strong Local 2024 for today and the future. They are dedicated, experienced, and unstoppable. Reach out to them and see why they are the right choice to lead our Teamster Local 2024. They have my vote.  Lets place these individuals to lead our Local 2024 for the next three years by voting for them for Executive Board
