K.G., RN
I've worked with Katherine Wallace for the past few years, and I've seen firsthand what she brings to this role.
She started organizing for the union back in 2023, when it was still just an idea, driven by the conviction that our nurses deserved better representation. It takes real determination, will, and strength to carry something like that all the way through, and here we are now, with our first contract ratified. I know this didn't happen single-handedly. So many of our friends and colleagues worked hard, came in for tabling on their days off, talked to other nurses, and unified to make this happen. But Katherine was there from the very beginning, and she never stopped showing up.
Katherine doesn't just talk about problems, she takes action to address them. She also knows this contract and this hospital inside and out. Whether it's staffing ratios, grievance procedures, or how negotiations actually work, she comes prepared, every time.
What I trust most about Katherine is that she represents everyone; day shift, night shift, new hires, veteran nurses, nurses who support the union, and nurses who are still on the sidelines. She listens before she acts, and she fights just as hard for someone she's never met as she would for a close friend.
Katherine, my friend, you have my full support, and I endorse you wholeheartedly. I know you will be the right person for this role.
